AUGUST 22-23-24 HUGE PAYOUTS FOR SUPER PRO
FALL BRACKET FINALS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, AUGUST 29-30-31
SHANNONVILLE TOUR RACE SEPT 12-13-14

CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST IS UPON US AS THIS WEEKEND IS BRACKET BONANZA #29: JULY 28/08
We can not let the weather man and all the bad news asserted with it let us forget and get excited about the weekend that every drag racer looks forward too, August 1-2-3 long weekend and the BRACKET BONANZA. Canada's oldest, richest and longest running drag race, which is what many of us thing of as Christmas in August. So we have to think positive and hope that the weather final turns around and we get three big days of wild and crazy racing in, and we expect to do just that. Jet Cars, Pro MODS, Alcohol Dragsters and over 300 NHRA Race Cars, mixed in with Bands, bar-b-ques and fireworks and you get the picture LOOK OUT. We will be registering, and parking on Thursday and we do expect the largest turnout of race cars in the history of the race track, and with the new purse structure and all the positive things that have been said about it we think even our estimates could be a little out of whack. Anyway in is going to be BIG.
WEATHER MAN STILL THE BIGGEST NEWS THIS SEASON: JULY 28/08
There is no question that in my 35 years of doing this racing thing I have never seen the weather so bad, and play such a major role in what is turning out to be the season that never was. Once again this Sunday rained forced the cancellation of yet another NHRA Drag Race at Luskville Dragway, and it's not just the Dragway, the Speedway has had 5 rain outs so far and every other race track owner we talk to is going through the same dilemma, and its not pretty. We did however get our first ever Friday Night Lights race in with Ralph Coe and Randy Urslak coming out on the top in their respective class's. Coe beat Joe Dole in the Finals for his first win of the season and Randy beat Russ Adams for his first win of the season also. The Friday Night race was terrific, with the track and the air giving drivers their best et's and 60's of all time. The next Friday Night deal has now become a huge weekend, as it will be the Friday Night of the Nostalgia Weekend, Ottawa Greenbelt deal and with the rain out this weekend of the Randy's Performance Automotive race it will now become a three race deal with $1000. to win Friday Night, $1500. to win Saturday and $2500. to win on Sunday for Super Pro Cars, thanks to Ottawa Greenbelt Construction, and Randy's Performance Automotive. So this is now going to become one heck of a weekend with all this regular racing, a cruise night, the Gasser Match Race and the RLD Nostalgia Day, WHOW!!!
FIRST PICTURES OF NEWEST ADM MOTORSPORTS MEMBER: JULY 21/08
As you can imagine we are very proud to share with you the first picture of the newest member of ADM Motorsports. Lila Marie Krottner came through the gates on June 29th ( a race day of course) crossing the scales at 9.2 pounds with a wheel base of 21". It is really hard to describe too anyone that has not had the pleasure of having a grand child, just how wonderful it is and how it changes your whole life and your out look on it. For those that have grand children they will understand everything I am saying and for those that don't, you will understand the day you do. Lila and Angie are doing great and we thank all of those who continued to follow this with us, as the racing community is and has been a large part of our family for years now. I have offered to get that new Jr. Dragster for Lila right away, but she thinks the technology will be much more sophisticated by 215 than it is right now, but where sure she will want to follow in her uncle Derek's foot steps and become a dragster driver.

DRIVERS HAVE A SAY IN THINGS, AS PURSE RESTRUCTURING FOR BB 08 IS ANNOUNCED: JULY 21/08
Luskville Dragway has always prided itself on allowing the drivers a say in what goes on at their track and have done so over the years as the track has grown in leaps and bounds. And we are happy to say that once again the drivers have come forward with what they believe is a change that is  the right thing to do at this time in our racing world. Things are different today as gas prices get to the point where it cost you more to get too the races than anyone can even imagine. So with that as a back drop we would like to announce that with the agreement of everyone we spoke to we are re structuring the payouts in Super Pro for the Bracket Bonanza, with the concept to be pushed forward at all of our big dollar bracket races in the future. The idea of the big dollar payout was always to attract more cars and it did work in years past but we believe now that if we spread the wealth around a little bit more we will attract even more, we know that some may not agree with this, some may think it is one racer born, this is not true, I have listened to the teams and believe me I don't always agree with them but on this it makes a great deal of sense and I believe will be good for our track and our events. What we have done is take money from the winners share of the purse and distribute it through the rest of the top sixteen making it so if you get to the top sixteen you will when at least $250.
2008 BRACKET BONANZA PAYOUT FOR BOTH DAYS ARE AS FOLLOWS : winner $6000.00 runner up $2000. semi finalist $1000. quarter finalist $500. top sixteen $250.

NOT SURE HOW IT COULD HAVE BEEN ANY BETTER, ELLIOT LAKE TOUR EVENT A HUGE SUCCESS: JULY 21/08
Where do we start, and how do we start to describe what was with out question the most successful airport race we have ever done. The ninth addition of the Elliot Lake Benson Tour event was incredible to say the least, and for anyone that took part in it, they will fully understand exactly what I am saying, great weather (for a change) record number of spectators and record number of entree's made for a pretty incredible weekend for sure. The Friday night gamblers race started things off as a young man in a street car wiped up on all of the super pro, semi pro guys to take home his share of $2600. The field was full of big guns but in the end it was a little mustang convertible from the street class that was the big winner, proving once again that anyone can win a drag race, you just have to enter. Saturdays weather was wall to wall sunshine and the place was over filled with spectators, the largest crowds I have ever seen at one of these deals and we have be doing them for 14 years now. The racing was spectacular and things didn't wind up until 8:15 Saturday night (close to 200 street cars). In super Pro Kevin Morrow from Carleton Place was the big winner on a day when his son Chevy would win the Jr. Dragster portion of the program mad for a very pleasant winners circle to say the least. Semi Pro saw Tony Dionoti from the north when his first ever big dollar event taking out Pat Kohl for the $2000 first place prize money. Serge Lapierre beat Ottawa's Rob Graveline for the S/B class title and Dustin Kellar of North Bay was the big $1000. street champion. Sundays winners where Kyle Jessup in Super Pro, Rodney House in Semi Pro, Carson Zygmont in Jrs. and Yves Beaudry in Sled. We will post all of the winners and other positions once we get it done up.

OTTAWA GREENBELT CONSTRUCTION UPS THE PURSE FOR AUGUST RACE: JULY 14/08
We have said it many times but we never say it enough, we have the best advertisers in Motorsports and once again this week Paulo Guist the owner of Ottawa Greenbelt Construction showed just why. Racer's running on the Ottawa Greenbelt Day in super pro will now be racing for $2500. to win and the semi pro guys will now be running for $500 to win thanks to this companies generosity. We hope that all teams will show their appreciation by first of all being there and second of all by letting them know just how much you appreciate what they have done.
WEATHER MAN WINS AGAIN, WRECKING WHAT WAS SHAPING UP TO BE A HUGE WEEKEND: JULY 14/08
What can I say that I haven't already said, but this season has certainly sucked so far and the big problem is we are moving in on it being almost over. Once again the weather was not only totally wrong, but in the end won the battle with the racers and the fans, heading into the weekend we where forecast good weather right up until late Sunday when we might get a shower. WRONG, with the pits fuller than they have ever been for a regular weekend, in fact the numbers of cars and race teams rivaled the Bracket Bonanza wish is incredible with the way the weather has been this year. Thing about this, we have been open since the first of May, yet we have only crowned THREE super pro winners, never before in the history of the track has this been the case and we really need to turn it around SOON. Things got under way with the running of the Rain Delayed race from one month ago, yes that is how bad it has been, but here too in the end the weather man won out as once again he was wrong and the wet stuff came in one day early and forced the cancellation of the Super Pro cars with 7 cars remaining in competition. Semi Pro was a smaller class and after the track was dried we where able to crown Glen Cameron over Mike Doyle in the finals for the win and Kenyon Payne over Tiffany Way in the finals of Jr. Dragsters. Tiffany is finishing up her year in Jrs. and will make the big jump next season to Super Pro behind the wheel of a rear engine dragster as Steve and Tina have purchased a ADM Motorsports dragster from the team. We also managed to get one run from the Super Charged Warriors in the afternoon as well as one run from the jets Saturday night during what was a much smaller cruise night than usual because of the rains all around. The Snap On Tools folks where out in force and did a great job of entertaining their clients through out the weekend making the atmosphere very good and it was a terrible shame that the weather man could not have cooperated a little more. This was also the weekend for the Ottawa's Fastest Street Car Shootout event but it two came under the weather radar with things set to be rerun on Aug 1st. The Gerry Otley vs. Carm war continued with Otley taking the number one qualifying spot as Carm had a few minor problems and did not get a good run in before the tranny went south.
We would remind everyone that we are closed this up coming weekend for Elliot Lake Tour event and then come back to action with the first ever Friday Night Shootout for semi pro and Super Pro (yes it is a points race) and also a cruise night. The Bracket Bonanza is only 3 weeks away so start planning now for what is sure to be a HUGE event.

Charlie Kenopic wins TNT Super Series Race at St Thomas Dragway! JULY 4-5-6/2008

SPARTA, ONTARIO (July 9, 2008)  In a stout field of Hot Rod racers at the July 5th Benson “Show Me The Money” Tour, Charlie Kenopic from Renfrew Ontario qualified in the #2 spot with a 7.003 and then marched through the field to take the win in the fourth event of the 9-round Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series presented by Performance Unlimited. “We usually race in Super Rod and have never run this car in a Hot Rod race before.  With this event being 1/8th mile, I wasn’t sure we could slow it down enough,” commented Charlie in the St Thomas Dragway Winner’s Circle.  “I want to thank Rick & Eric Stroud and family.  They help me out a great deal on and off the racetrack.” Charlie quickly figured out how to slow his 1927 Ford T Roadster to the 7.00 index – posting not one, but two 7.00 runs in qualifying.  This set up served him well as he faced off against some stout TNT competition from the likes of Marc Vezina (Straffordville ON), Wayne Sipos (Binbrook ON) and Gary Saska (Ingersoll ON) on his way to the final round.  There he met up with current TNT points leader Ted Barnes (Canfield ON).  Ted had the advantage off the line (.012 to .033) but couldn’t hold off the Roadster’s top end charge.  Charlie took the win light with a 7.014 at 118mph to Ted’s breakout 6.986 at 102mph. Taking home the #1 qualifier honours and yet another $50 Hoosier Tire Canada certificate was Jamie Stoneman of Cheektowaga NY posting a 7.0001 at 118mph. Next up on the 2008 Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series is a double race weekend – First to Dunn Tire Raceway Park on Friday August 8th and then to Toronto Motorsports Park on Sunday August 10th.
With the points championship determined by “best 3 Canadian races plus best 3 US races”, things should shake up quite a bit as we head into the rest of the 2008 races.  Here are the current points standings after 3 of 9 races complete:

1.      Ted Barnes, Canfield ON                         256

2.      Jamie Stoneman, Cheektowaga NY            214

3.      David Surmatchewski, Oakland ON             195

4.      Wayne Sipos, Binbrook ON                       182

5.      Bill Elekes, West Seneca NY                     133

6.      Gary Saska, Ingersoll ON                         123

7.      Joe Passero, Stevensville ON                    116

8.      Charlie Kenopic, Renfrew ON                    110

9.      Ross Booker, Hamilton ON                       104

10.  Gary Stowell, Macedon NY                       98
